Ready.
Enter and confirm your new MAYARA password before continuing to your budget.
Use at least 10 characters. Apple Passwords can suggest and save a strong password.
MAYARANavigate freely. Your selected forecast date follows you.
Working balance includes due payments. Actual balance is the latest real balance you entered or accepted from a bank update. Month-end forecast includes planned cash flow through the date shown. Update the actual balance whenever you check your bank.
Working card balance is what you owe after confirmed payments since the last actual balance. Available credit is your limit minus that working balance. The next payment date follows your linked unpaid payment schedule. Review payment opens the relevant record or schedule. Open Payment history to inspect possible duplicates. Future payments reduce to the remaining estimated debt and stop at zero; update the card balance when new spending occurs.
Find an answer, then explore the guide for the task you’re doing.
Choose a question to open the relevant guide.
Open Menu → Quick setup. Start with the bank accounts you use and their actual balances, then use Import bank statement to add regular bills and income quickly. Import is optional; you can enter everything manually instead.
After importing, choose Continue Quick setup to return to the import step. The following income and payment steps are for anything still missing. Existing imported schedules already count; do not add them twice. Use Added so far to check your work. You can save and finish later.
The Menu button opens all pages and tools. Your money contains Home, Bank Accounts, Transactions and Cards. Plan ahead contains Calendar Forecast and Forecast Charts. Manage contains Data & imports, Security and Subscription. Help, Groups, Quick setup, exchange-rate tools and a statement-import shortcut are below. The current page name stays beside the Menu button.
Search in the header to find accounts, transactions, schedules or groups. Account names are independent of your MAYARA login; your login identifies your private workspace.
Open your Mayara website in Safari. Choose Share → Add to Home Screen, keep Open as Web App enabled if shown, then tap Add. Open the M icon to use Mayara in its own app window.
An internet connection is still required for sign-in and cloud services. An old Home Screen shortcut may need replacing after an icon or installation-setting update.
Open Menu → Bank Accounts. Add current, savings, business, cash or investment accounts in their own currencies. Use clear names such as “Revolut GBP” and “Revolut EUR” when you have similar accounts.
Actual balance is your recorded starting point and its update date. Working balance applies relevant confirmed movements and due cash flow since that starting point. Projected balance includes expected movements through the selected future date. Updating the actual balance creates a fresh anchor so included movements are not replayed.
Home’s Accounts at a glance groups account types and shows working, actual, monthly expenses and month-end figures. Monthly Expenses covers the selected calendar month in the account’s currency: recorded expenses plus remaining scheduled expenses, including allowances and expense-type card repayments. Transfers out are included; income and transfers in are excluded. Choose the account to see the recorded and scheduled breakdown. Imported statement history contributes to expense reports without changing balances. Choose an account row or View activity to inspect recent and upcoming movements. Account settings, statement import and account deletion are in the account’s options menu. An account in use cannot be deleted until its linked records are moved or removed.
Statement-history imports leave these balances unchanged. Update the actual balance separately whenever you check your bank.
Open Menu → Transactions. Use search, account, type, group and date filters to find a payment. The summary cards show monthly recurring expenses, monthly-equivalent income, net recurring cash flow and groups; choose available calculated figures to see their detail.
Add a one-off transaction for a single expected payment. Turn on Recurring when it should repeat. Select a row on Home or Transactions to open its editor. Save, Cancel and confirmed deletion return to the page you opened it from.
Confirm Paid, Confirm Transferred and income-receipt actions record what actually happened. Early confirmation applies the movement once; it is not charged again on its original date. Reaching a due date does not automatically mark a payment paid. Due schedules can still affect working/forecast balances while remaining unconfirmed.
Use an available Undo Paid or Undo Transferred if you confirmed the wrong occurrence. Bank-confirmed activity is reviewed under Data rather than manually marked unpaid. Statement history is already completed history, with no balance replay or manual paid/undo actions.
Delete transaction removes the selected saved transaction after confirmation. Delete recurring schedule removes future occurrences and uncompleted linked copies while keeping completed payment history. Deleting a saved transaction leaves any existing schedule intact, so an unpaid scheduled occurrence can return. Check the named item in the confirmation before deleting.
Schedules can repeat weekly, every four weeks (a true 28-day cycle), monthly, quarterly, every six months or annually. You can also choose a particular weekday of the month, such as the second Friday.
Set the start/reference date, amount and frequency. A schedule can remain open-ended, end on a final date or stop after a specified number of occurrences. The final allowed occurrence is included; no later occurrences are generated. Other payments or entered savings interest can still change the forecast after a schedule ends.
Monthly equivalent puts different frequencies on a comparable planning basis. For example, a four-weekly amount occurs about 13 times a year, so its monthly equivalent is amount × 13 ÷ 12. It does not mean that exact amount will move in every calendar month.
Edit the schedule when the ongoing pattern changes. Confirm an individual payment when it is actually paid. For card repayments, select the specific credit card the schedule pays.
Add income through Transactions, Quick setup or statement import. Choose the account receiving it, its expected amount and date, and the appropriate income type. Regular income can use the same recurring frequencies as bills.
For variable pay, a recurring income can be marked as a baseline. Entering a known actual income for the same account and month replaces that month’s baseline estimate rather than stacking both figures. Check the account, month and income type when comparing a baseline with an actual payment.
A transfer moves money between your own accounts. Choose the exact source and destination accounts; currency labels distinguish similarly named accounts. Internal transfers are not external income or spending.
For different currencies, enter both the amount leaving the source and the exact amount received. Your bank’s rate can differ from the saved reference FX rate used for reports. Do not treat equal amounts alone as proof that two records are the same transfer.
Smart Transfers can follow recurring income and use all of it, a percentage, a fixed amount, or an amount that leaves a minimum balance. An occurrence can be overridden or skipped without changing the underlying rule. Check the linked income rule, both accounts and any recurring end date.
Mayara only records and forecasts transfers; it does not instruct your bank to move money.
Use a category/group to organise transactions and schedules. Open Menu → Groups to manage the shared list. In statement review, choose an existing group or type a new name; it is created only when you confirm the import.
Renaming a group updates linked labels. Deleting a group moves its transactions and schedules to Ungrouped; it does not delete the financial records. An intentionally empty group list stays empty. Groups are labels, separate from an account’s currency or payment status.
Mayara checks each cash, current, savings, business and investment account in its own currency. Red means a balance below zero; amber means a balance below the minimum you set. Warnings include a date, the lowest expected balance and the gap below your minimum. They remain visible if the account dips and later recovers.
Home and Bank Accounts look ahead 90 days by default. When warnings are present, choose 30 days, 90 days or 1 year in the warning panel. Choosing a future Viewing date checks today through that date instead. Calendar and Charts check their displayed forecast range; individual Calendar days also show a low-account count.
Choose Review cash flow to open the relevant account at the warning date. Review planned income, expenses and transfers, then decide whether to adjust your plans or arrange a transfer yourself. Ask Mayara “Which accounts have low funds?” for the same warning information. A dated account balance answer includes warnings for any dip before that date. Ask “How much should I transfer into Revolut GBP over the next three months?” to compare the incoming amount needed to stay above zero with the amount needed to preserve its minimum. A follow-up such as “How much do I need to transfer in to the account?” remembers the account and period from your preceding forecast. Amounts use the lowest balance during the period, even if the closing balance recovers. These estimates do not move money or choose a source account.
These are in-app closing-balance estimates from saved records, with same-day income and outgoings netted. They do not predict the order of bank payments within a day and are not background, email or push notifications. Keep actual balances and schedules current. Statement-history imports do not replay into forecast balances.
Use Balance on a future date → Viewing date to choose today or a date up to ten years ahead. Today, +7 days, +30 days, Month end and +90 days are shortcuts. The native date picker opens when you tap the date field. Your selected date follows you between pages during this session; reloading resets it to Today.
Home, accounts, cards, calendar, charts and forecast cash flow use the same dated calculation. Actual records and real payment status remain current. A forecast does not settle an unpaid bill or rewrite an actual balance.
Calendar Forecast offers Day, Week, Month and Year views. Tap a day or period to inspect or zoom into its expected activity. When a future viewing date is selected, projections finish on that exact date.
Forecast Charts show total cash in GBP and individual accounts in their own currencies. Home’s Projected money chart uses coloured GBP-equivalent lines for current and savings accounts, with a black total. Select an account line or its key to open activity. Business, cash and investment accounts retain separate forecasts rather than being silently included in the current-plus-savings cash total.
Savings/investment growth uses any AER you entered as a forward estimate. No rate means no assumed growth. Saved FX rates are indicative. Use calculation details and account activity to see the movements behind a figure.
If a forecast looks wrong, check the actual balance and its date first, then pending schedules, early confirmations, recurring start/end dates, transfer destinations, card links and exchange rates. Look for duplicate rules or transactions already included in a recorded balance.
Consider scheduling your regular bills and income individually, then setting one monthly allowance for incidental costs such as coffees, groceries and shopping. The allowance is a planned expense in the selected account’s own currency and is included in future cash projections.
During Import bank statement, enable Set a monthly everyday spending allowance, enter the amount and choose its first future date. Setting it again updates the existing statement allowance for that account. It is grouped under Everyday spending.
Include only incidental spending in that allowance. Do not also schedule the same costs individually unless you intend both amounts to be deducted. Imported past history does not deduct the costs again. Review the allowance as your spending changes.
Open Menu → Cards to record each card’s actual balance, credit limit, APR, payment account and due date. Keep those actual figures current. Assign repayment transactions or schedules to the specific card; a name or equal amount is not enough to identify it.
The shared future view uses card-linked scheduled payments and an APR ÷ 12 monthly interest estimate. It does not invent fallback payments from a planned monthly amount. An explicit Ask Mayara payoff scenario can use its planned-payment model. Actual issuers can calculate interest differently; promotional terms, fees, new purchases and statement timing are not predicted.
Unpaid/overdue warnings reflect actual payment status. Paying a later cycle does not clear an earlier missed cycle. When all linked payments in a due-date month are paid, the next unpaid scheduled deadline is used.
Card purchases and card repayments serve different purposes: record spending and link the repayment so you do not mistake the same purchase for a second expense. Statement history never replays into a recorded card balance.
Payment warnings follow the exact linked card and billing date, including payments kept from a replaced schedule. Use Review payment to open the payment or schedule. Payment history keeps saved records reachable and flags multiple paid records on the same billing date for review; Mayara does not delete them automatically.
The Paid from label follows the next unpaid payment. Changing Paid from in Card settings updates future linked schedules and unpaid future transactions, preserving paid history. Future payments reduce automatically to the estimated remaining debt, including estimated interest, and stop at zero. The recurring amount remains available for later borrowing. These estimates assume no new card spending; update the actual card balance when it changes.
Open the floating Ask Mayara button. Type a question, or use Speak when your browser/device supports speech recognition. Edit recognised text before submitting if necessary. The floating control is hidden while navigation, import or certain dialogs need the space.
Try “How much money will I have on 12 December 2026?”, “What bills are due in the next ten days?” or “What is my lowest balance over the next eight weeks?”. Mayara uses your saved workspace and the same forecast calculations as the app.
Ask “What are the total expenses for Revolut GBP each month in 2027?” or “What did I spend from Revolut GBP each month last year?”. Monthly reports separate recorded spending from scheduled estimates. Past months only show saved spending; missing history is not proof of zero spending. Use the full account name and currency if names overlap.
For a supported change, such as “Update my Revolut actual balance to £3,561”, it shows the existing and proposed values and asks for confirmation. Ask Mayara does not move money at your bank.
What-if savings or payoff questions compare scenarios without changing your real records. Examples: “If I put £300 extra into savings each month, what will I have on 1 June 2027?” or “If I pay £500 more to my card each month, when will it clear?”. Payoff estimates use saved card settings and estimated interest; “more” is additional to the planned monthly payment.
Open Menu → FX to refresh reference rates or open rate settings. Mayara uses saved rates to convert account values into GBP-equivalent totals. They are indicative; they may differ from the rate your bank executes. Missing rates are flagged instead of treated as zero.
Rate requests send currency codes, not your balances. An optional rate-provider key is stored in this browser and is not encrypted. A transfer’s exact source/destination amounts remain separate from these reporting rates.
Future schedules add expected payments after today; their past statement payments are not automatically added as history. Past history keeps original dates and completed status but leaves recorded/working/projected balances unchanged. Update your actual bank balance separately. Existing scheduled payments are not automatically marked paid by a history import.
Pending/unbooked, invalid, future-dated and wrong-currency rows are excluded. If the export omits status, check it contains booked activity. Exact prior imports are recognised; changed descriptions or references may need manual review. Possible existing manual payments need explicit separate-payment confirmation. Transfers require both accounts and their exact amounts.
Limits: 10 MB, 5,000 transaction rows and 100 PDF pages. CSV is preferred. PDF layouts must contain selectable text and recognisable table headers; scanned/image, locked or unsupported PDFs need CSV or an unlocked text PDF. There is no OCR. Compare extracted PDF rows and counts with your original statement.
The original file and raw parsed rows are read locally and are not uploaded or saved. Only confirmed Mayara records are saved to your private workspace. Use Undo this import on success or Data & imports → Undo last statement import while there have been no later edits. Undo is session-only and does not survive reload. When importing from Quick setup, choose Continue Quick setup to return there.
Advanced JSON bank-update files are separate from ordinary CSV/PDF statement import. They use Mayara’s reconciliation tools under Data & imports; this release does not provide a live bank connection.
Preview before saving. Uncertain matches wait for review: choose an existing payment, a genuinely separate transaction, or an explicitly identified transfer. Repeated bank identities are recognised; pending records remain outside the completed ledger until booked.
Only booked balances with complete transaction coverage are accepted. Related balance changes stay on hold until review is complete, and covered movements are not replayed. Failure preserves financial records and the last successful update. Bank-confirmed entries offer details instead of manual unpaid/undo controls.
Undo last bank change reverses the latest bank action in this browser session only while the workspace has not changed. Keep a normal backup for longer-term recovery.
Saved to cloud in the header means your changes reached your private workspace. Different signed-in users have separate workspaces. Wait for that status before closing the app.
Open Menu → Data & imports. Export MAYARA Data creates a portable JSON backup. Your browser may show a Save As picker or use its normal download/share behaviour. Keep backups private because they contain your financial data.
Import MAYARA Data previews a compatible backup and can replace the workspace after confirmation. This is different from importing bank-statement rows. Export a current backup before replacing data.
Export A4 Summary PDF opens the browser print window; choose Save as PDF, print or share from there.
Your email identifies your Mayara login. On the sign-in screen choose a passkey or email/password. If you forget the password, use Forgot password? and follow the recovery email. A password manager can save the replacement password.
Open Menu → Security to add or remove passkeys. Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a compatible authenticator may be available; Mayara does not receive your biometric data. Keep a recovery method available and remove a lost device’s passkey from another signed-in device.
Set the inactivity-lock duration or use Lock MAYARA now. Inactivity lock signs this browser session out after no keyboard, pointer, touch or scroll activity, then requires authentication again. Other devices are not signed out by that local action.
Open Menu → Subscription to check your plan, access status and any trial/end date. Available billing controls depend on the site’s configuration. Check any test-mode wording on that screen before treating a payment flow as live.
An expired trial or cancelled subscription does not silently delete your financial data. Keep normal data backups. Founding Tester access, when assigned, is shown in the plan details.

Mayara is a budgeting and forecasting tool. Projections are estimates based on the records and settings you enter.
Download a statement from your bank, then choose its matching account below. CSV is the most reliable format; PDFs must contain selectable text.
Your file is read on this device. The original statement is not uploaded or kept. Only the records you confirm are saved to your Mayara workspace.
The heading row is detected when you choose a file. Adjust it if your bank puts account details before the table.
Use Signed amount for a single column with positive and negative values. Otherwise choose Money out and Money in and leave Signed amount as Not provided. Never select the running balance column.
Start with regular bills and income. We suggest patterns from repeated payment names and dates; check the amount, frequency and next date before creating a schedule. For coffees, shopping and other incidental costs, consider one monthly spending allowance instead.
You can also import past transaction history. History imports leave balances unchanged: keep your recorded bank balance up to date under Accounts.
Only selected rows and an enabled allowance will be saved. Future dates, pending activity, currency mismatches and invalid rows cannot be imported. Already imported history is excluded.
Bring in a CSV or PDF statement, pick the payments that matter, and organise them into Mayara groups. Create future recurring bills or keep selected payments as past history.
Read on your device · Review every selection · No live bank connection needed
Live bank connections are not enabled in this release. You can review supported bank-update files here. Ordinary bank statements and MAYARA backups use different formats.
This setting applies to this browser/device. Signing out here does not sign you out of your other devices.
Stripe is connected in test mode in this release. No real payment is taken while your Stripe account remains in test mode. Registration country suggests a currency; you can choose another supported billing currency before subscribing.
